DIGITAL HYGIENE ENGINE

Privacy Policy

Effective: October 2026

Purpose

Digital Hygiene Engine is a personal, local-first application used by its owner to organize and maintain personal email and cloud-drive accounts.

Account access

Google and Microsoft account data is accessed only after explicit authorization by the account owner. The current application requests read-only metadata permissions needed for synchronization and inventory. It does not modify, send or permanently delete email or cloud-drive files at this stage.

Local processing and storage

Personal email and cloud-drive information is processed on the owner's computer. Persistent local state is stored locally. OAuth refresh credentials are kept in the operating system credential store, and short-lived access credentials are used locally for direct communication with Google or Microsoft.

AI and third parties

Personal mailbox or file content is not sent to cloud large-language-model providers by Digital Hygiene Engine. Personal data is not sold, rented, used for advertising or shared with advertisers.

Public website

This public website contains only general information about Digital Hygiene Engine. It uses no analytics, advertising trackers, tracking cookies, third-party JavaScript or third-party content delivery network.

Revoking access

The owner can revoke Digital Hygiene Engine's access at any time from the security or connected-app settings of the relevant Google or Microsoft account. Local credentials can also be removed from the operating system credential store.

Changes

If the application's data access or processing model changes materially, this policy must be updated before the new behavior is enabled.
